Glossary of terms:

Vmp – Volts maximum power – The modules optimum output voltage where maximum power can be transmitted to the load.

Imp –  Current (I) maximum power – The modules optimum output current where maximum power can be transmitted to the load.

Voc – Volts open circuit – The modules output voltage under a no-load condition.

Isc – Current (I) short circuit – The modules output current into a short circuit.

MPP – Maximum Power Point –The voltage and current levels where the modules produce the most power

Rated Power = Imp X Vmp (expressed in Watts)

Module Features

• The SM Series modules have a power range from 46 to 110 watts

• The SM Series has a square-shaped solar cell providing the highest power density of all Shell modules

• The SM Series is Shell’s premium modules with the longest service record having been deployed in the field for over 20 years

• Single crystalline Power Maxฎ solar cells, are textured and anti-reflection coated for maximum output ratios

• The SM46, SM50, SM55, SM100 and the SM110 have a 25 Year Limited Warranty on power output

• The SP Series modules have a power range from 70 to 150 watts

• Selectable voltage 12V / 6V

• The SP Series is Shell’ most popular and best selling module

• Rugged weather-proof design

• The SP Series has a truncated, round solar cell, providing a medium range power density

• Single crystalline Power Maxฎ solar cells are textured for maximum output ratios

• For stand alone applications such as industrial systems or consumer/leisure use

• 25-Year Limited Warranty

SP 130, 140 and 150 Series Additional Features

• The SP130, SP140 and SP150, ideal for grid-connected installations, are configured for 24 volt operation. Fewer modules are needed for installation, which minimizes the number of connections.

• Modules can be wired in series or parallel to attain required power levels.

• These modules incorporate the same high quality, single crystalline PowerMaxฎ technology used in other Shell modules. They are laminated to tempered glass and include anodized aluminum frames.

• The IP54 rated junction box features spring-tensioned cage clamps for tool-free wire connections. Knock outs accommodate 1/2-inch NPT fittings.

• Built-in bypass diodes ensure peak system performance.

• Special order frameless laminate versions are also available.

Shell Solar has designed a line of solar power kits to provide an efficient and easy-toinstall

residential or commercial building system for utility interconnection. These kits meet all

NEC requirements and provide anti-islanding as required by many utilities. All earthsafe

system kits consist of Shell SP75 solar modules, universal roof mounting kits, and the

Advanced Energy GC 1000 DC/AC inverter. The GC 1000 includes a string combiner,

ground fault protection and a DC disconnect. UL listed.
